Film Awards: Winners and Nominees
Every film in CineRoll was nominated at one of these four. Each award has its own page with every ceremony on record, from the first one to this year's, and every category — from Best Picture and the Palme d'Or down to the craft and short-film prizes. Winners are always listed first, so a ceremony page doubles as a quick answer to “who won that year?”.
CineRoll covers the four awards that shape film history: the Oscars, the Golden Globes, the Cannes Film Festival and the Berlinale. Pick one to see every ceremony, every category, and every film that won or was nominated. For the complete winners' lists of the biggest prizes, see the collections, or browse the best films by decade, country or language, or by mood.
Academy Awards
The Academy Awards — the Oscars — are given every year by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles. They have been handed out since 1929 and are the best-known film prizes in the world.

Golden Globe Awards
The Golden Globes have honoured film and television since 1944. Unlike the Oscars they split the top film prizes in two — drama, and musical or comedy — which is why so many comedies show up here and nowhere else.

Cannes Film Festival
The Cannes Film Festival has been held on the French Riviera since 1946. Its top prize, the Palme d'Or, is the most coveted award in world cinema, and its competition line-up each May sets the tone for the year in film.

Berlin International Film Festival
The Berlin International Film Festival — the Berlinale — was founded in 1951 and is one of the three big European festivals alongside Cannes and Venice. Its top prize is the Golden Bear; the Silver Bears go to directors, actors and juries' favourites.
